KCFI in Action: Driving Educational Impact from the Holidays into 2026
During the holiday break, when most operations traditionally pause, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) continued working closely with partners and communities, creating a meaningful impact on the educational landscape and directly benefiting learners nationwide. This commitment carried through a lineup of programs and engagements in January and February, marking an active and mission-driven start to 2026 for KCFI.
DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara (left), KCFI President and Co-Founder Rina Lopez (center), and Solar Entertainment President and CEO Wilson Tieng (right) present the signed Memorandum of Agreements for the DepEd–KCFI–Solar Learning partnership for DepEd TV on November 6, 2025.
In December, the Department of Education (DepEd) issued a new memorandum encouraging all Schools Division Offices (SDOs) to integrate DepEd TV, DepEd’s curriculum-aligned, broadcast-based learning platform powered by KCFI video lessons and supported by Solar Learning, into classroom instruction. Teachers can use DepEd TV to enhance lesson deliverya and deepen learning by complementing their existing teaching methods. Furthermore, the memorandum directs SDOs to adopt DepEd TV as a supplementary learning resource during periods of class suspension, with teachers also tasked to provide viewing guidance to learners, ensuring their engagement with assigned content.
The new DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel expands access to KCFI’s curriculum-aligned video lessons for learners and educators across the country. Knowledge Channel’s SY 2025-2026 programming schedule can be accessed here. DepEd TV and the Knowledge Channel are available via digital free TV or Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), cable, and Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite services.
Reaching More
Just days before Christmas, KCFI continued to work on the ground to ensure children returned to Child Development Centers (CDCs) that are better equipped for early learning. On December 22, Knowledge Channel TV packages for Early Childhood Development (ECD) were turned over to 14 CDCs in Pililla, Rizal through a holiday initiative with the Municipality of Pililla. Each KCTV-ECD package includes a 43-inch TV, hundreds of KCFI video lessons for ECD, supplementary content for Child Development Workers (CDWs), parents, and caregivers, and a technical training session to help CDWs integrate video lessons into daily activities and create structured, interactive learning environments for children.
January and February saw continued efforts to bridge learning gaps across various provinces. On January 15, 9 schools in Quezon Province received KCTV packages for Elementary School through the DigitaEskwela program of AboitizPower and Quezon I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (QUEZELCO I). Each package provides access to over 1,500 curriculum-based video lessons, e-games, and e-session guides, helping educators bring lessons to life, making topics easier to understand and more engaging for learners.
KCTVs were also gifted to 5 schools in Baguio City on January 21 by KCFI and the Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. (PMM) through a ceremonial turnover event. The activity also marked the launch of NEXT LEVEL! A new KCFI video lesson produced in partnership with PMM and aligned with the K to 12 Science curriculum. NEXT LEVEL! introduces key concepts such as electric current, voltage, resistance, electromagnetic waves, and the real-world applications of capacitors in everyday and emerging technologies.
Teaching More
Teachers from 12 schools in Morong, Rizal took part in KCFI’s Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies (LEEP) training from February 4 to 6, made possible through the support of the Morong High School Alumni Association, Inc. (MHSAAI) Northern California Chapter and Florida Chapter.
LEEP introduces educators to 21st-century, evidence-based approaches to teaching, with an emphasis on effectively integrating KCFI video lessons into classroom instruction. Each participating school also received a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML), a portable hard drive containing curriculum-aligned video lessons, e-games, and e-session guides.
