Celebrating Those Who Teach: KCFI Puts Teachers & CDW/Ts First for National Teachers Month

This National Teachers’ Month (NTM), KCFI provides all teachers, be they take care of children in Child Development Centers (CDCs) or teach in basic education or in tertiary. Workers/Teachers (CDW/Ts) first by creating more opportunities for them to learn, grow, and thrive in their profession. In line with this year’s NTM theme, “Teacher, Ikaw Naman!”, KCFI and its partners are bringing educators capacity-building opportunities, meaningful experiences beyond the classroom, and provision of offline learning resources to support them in their everyday work. 

More LearnCons for Teachers 

As a gift to teachers this NTM, KCFI is offering for free, Knowledge Channel Learning Conferences (LearnCons) designed to equip, inspire, and support educators. Through these sessions, they can strengthen their practice while earning up to 7 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.

The LearnCon series kicks off on September 12 with “Building Foundational Numeracy through Multimedia-Enhanced Teaching Approaches” (presented with China Bank Savings), aimed at guiding K-3 and elementary Math teachers, numeracy coordinators, and parents in using MathDali episodes to build number sense and create engaging Math lessons. 

On September 26, LearnCon will present “From Viewing to Doing: Designing Video-Based Science Learning Experiences with Gen H” (presented with AIA Healthiest Schools and Corazon S. Atayde Memorial Foundation), focusing on how teachers can best use Gen H: Generation Healthy video lessons in creating inquiry-based, hands-on Science learning anchored on real-life issues, healthy behaviors, and environmental stewardship. 

The LearnCon series for NTM concludes on October 3 with “Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in the Filipino Classroom: From Understanding ExSELLEnT to Designing Meaningful Learning Experiences” (presented with City Savings Bank and ChildFund Philippines), which will explore ways to integrate SEL into meaningful, curriculum-based learning experiences. 

Turnover of KCTVs and KCPMLs 

The NTM celebration of teachers also extends beyond professional development, as KCFI continues to bring offline learning solutions to more schools and communities with the support of its partners. 

More children in Parañaque gained access to engaging educational content as KCFI and Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI) turned over learning resources to 135 Child Development Centers (CDCs) and 10 public elementary schools in the city on September 9. The packages included 299 KCPMLs and 189 TVs, providing schools and CDCs with offline access to Knowledge Channel’s new video lessons for teaching and learning reading fundamentals. These KCPMLs contain video lessons co-produced with BCFI, including 215 newly produced episodes from Musikantahan, Kinder Yes!, and Ready, Set, Read! The turnover also marked the launch of these Knowledge Channel shows. 

This milestone forms part of KCFI’s commitment with BCFI to deliver 1,200 offline learning solutions to CDCs and elementary schools, with the final turnover set for September 30 in Quezon City.  

Also on September 9, two KCTV packages were delivered in Pililla, Rizal to support Early Childhood Development (ECD) in the municipality. Each ECD KCTV package includes a 43-inch smart TV and a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML) containing hundreds of ECD video lessons, session guides, and other resources for CDW/Ts. This project was done in collaboration with the LGU of Pililla, Rizal.

Museum Expedition 

KCFI will join the NTM Museum Expedition for Teachers, organized by the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) Arts and Culture Committee. KCFI will document the experiences as 30 teachers from various schools in Metro Manila as they explore the Ayala Museum, The Mind Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Manila on September 26. More than a day of cultural immersion, the initiative gives teachers the chance to step out of their usual roles and become learners themselves. Educators can bring these experiences back to their classrooms and find new ways to enrich their learners. 

Other KCFI News 

Through its partnership with China Bank Savings (CBS), KCFI is bringing more capacity-building opportunities to educators. 240 teachers across Zambales, Batangas, and Pampanga will soon benefit from the Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies (LEEP) Program, which equips them with practical, evidence-based teaching strategies. A LearnCon on Math will also be conducted for teachers nationwide, integrating CBS’s financial literacy modules to build their knowledge and confidence in making sound financial decisions. 

KCFI is also helping young learners better understand and take action on environmental issues through Enna You Know. Launched in Morong, Rizal on September 1, the Science curriculum-aligned series, produced with Schneider Electric Foundation, Schneider Electric Philippines, and MakeSense Asia, follows a high school student and her environmental scientist brother as they explore everyday ecological challenges and discover practical solutions that learners can apply in their own communities. Schools in Rizal also received flash drives containing the video lessons, giving teachers ready-to-use resources for their classes. 

Meanwhile, KCFI’s renewed partnership with BPI Foundation (BPIF) is bringing financial literacy closer to learners through new episodes of Estudyantipid, covering budgeting, financial literacy, and digital scam awareness. Launched on September 3 in Isabela City and Zamboanga City, the initiative also included the turnover of five KCTV packages to underserved schools through BPIF’s Financial Education (FinEd) Unboxed program. More launches and turnovers are set for Iloilo, Guimaras, Cagayan de Oro, and Rizal in the coming months. 

In another step toward reaching last-mile communities, KCFI and Salesforce also turned over a KCPML to Rawang Elementary School in Tanay, Rizal on September 3, giving teachers and learners offline access to quality educational content.
