KCFI, Partners Launch ‘Enna You Know!’ in Rizal

Rising temperatures alter daily routines, while unexpected floods frequently halt classes across the Philippines. Addressing climate challenges through education, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), Schneider Electric Foundation, Schneider Electric Philippines, Makesense Asia, and the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office (SDO) of Rizal launched Enna You Know! at San Guillermo Integrated School in Morong, Rizal, on September 1, 2026.
Enna You Know! is a four-episode video lesson series aligned with the DepEd Grade 9 and 10 Science curriculum on energy conservation, environmental sustainability, and climate action.
It follows the journey of a curious teen named Enna (played by Zavinna Badena) who frequently encounters everyday environmental problems at home and in her local community. To solve these issues, she turns to her older brother Geo (played by Benedix Ramos), a field-based environmental scientist. The series aims to build environmental awareness and encourage eco-friendly habits through engaging, real-life scenarios.
The series also serves as a core component of Project Shaping Energy (PSE), an initiative designed to equip Filipino youth with the skills and mindset for a transition toward a sustainable future. The project introduces learners to concepts regarding renewable energy, climate change, and green careers.
During the launch, KCFI Vice President Edric Calma emphasized the long-term community impact of creating dedicated climate education resources. “Ang investment po sa education katulad ng mga ginawa nating mga video lessons na ito, ay makabuluhan at sustainable,” Calma stated.“Taun-taon, ilang mga bata ang matuto ng science nang maayos at magmamahal sa ating kalikasan dahil sa mga videos na ito”.
Empowering future green leaders
The launch highlighted youth involvement in climate solutions. Atty. Norman "JJ" Roland Ocana III, Head of Government Affairs and Foundation at Schneider Electric Philippines, noted the necessity of reaching learners early. "It is our hope that these videos will inspire you to become future leaders, engineers, and environmentalists," Ocana said.
Makesense Asia’s Department Head for Workforce Development, Hyrah Jeachelle Santos, reinforced this objective. “We empower young people to become informed decision-makers... responsible citizens at maging future leaders,” Santos stated, adding that understanding energy transitions gives learners a role in shaping the world.
DepEd Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and External Partnerships Services, Asec. Cilette Liboro Co, linked the project to the department's mandate. "At DepEd, we believe that every learner deserves an education that responds to their needs, empowers their potential, and paves the way for them to achieve their dreams," she said, noting that multimedia tools bridge learning gaps when classes are suspended due to calamities.
Advancing climate action in classrooms
The event featured a turnover ceremony where partners distributed flash drives containing the four Enna You Know! episodes to Science teachers from the SDO of Rizal. These flash drives allow teachers to integrate the lessons into their classrooms without relying on internet connectivity.
Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd SDO Rizal, Dr. Doris Estalilla, highlighted the value of validated, ready-to-use materials for teachers. “With this Enna You Know flash drive, you're sure that high quality, brilliant idea, rich resources, and a heart of a teacher rolled into one, ensures that particular lesson on energy conservation, environmental sustainability, and actions are emphasized, making it a lot easier for teachers on lesson integration and execution,” Estalilla noted.
Beyond the Enna You Know! video lessons, PSE places a heavy emphasis on robust human capital development through student engagement and applied learning. Makesense will organize a province-wide culminating school competition called Project Shaping Energy Competition: Rizal Renewable Futures Challenge. This innovation competition will provide a platform for learners to demonstrate real-world learning outcomes and showcase their own climate action initiatives.
As environmental challenges escalate, deploying curriculum-based multimedia resources equips the next generation with the exact knowledge they need to implement sustainability solutions, ensuring that the youth of today become the climate stewards of tomorrow. Enna You Know! airs starting September 19 on DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel, every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 4:00 PM, with replays at 10:40 PM.
