Making learning more accessible and impactful for Filipino learners is always at the heart of the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI)’s mission, as it continues to strengthen the capacities of educators through upskilling, expand access to quality learning resources, and bring digital tools closer to schools and communities nationwide.
The Kayang-Kaya Para sa Bata: Certificate Program for the Upskilling of Child Development Workers (CDWs) in Baras, Rizal officially concluded on April 13 with a culminating ceremony honoring 47 graduating CDWs. A breakthrough achievement was when 10 of these CDWs passed the TESDA National Certificate III (NC III) in Early Childhood Care and Development Services, serving as a testament to the effectiveness of the Kayang-Kaya Para sa Bata program in strengthening CDW competencies. Started in July 2025, this pioneer initiative upskilled participants with the essential tools and competencies to provide holistic early childhood development support to children ages 3–4.
Kayang-Kaya Para Sa Bata was made possible through the Rotary Global Grant #2457741 granted to the Rotary Club of Makati Premier District (RCMPD), with support from Rotary District 3830, Rotary Club of Cheonan Dongho (RCCD), and Rotary District 3620, in partnership with KCFI, the Early Childhood Care and Development Council (ECCDC), and the Municipality of Baras.
Building on these initiatives to strengthen education and broaden learning opportunities, KCFI is also taking a significant leap toward expanding access to its curriculum-aligned video lessons for School Year 2026–2027 through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Cable and Telecommunications Association (PCTA), formalized at the Philippine Tech Show on March 25.

The partnership will broaden the reach of DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel through PCTA’s member cable operators, bringing Knowledge Channel video lessons closer to more households and schools, and providing learners nationwide with a reliable alternative learning mode.

KCFI Vice President Edric Calma presented an overview of the KCFI’s initiatives, highlighting efforts to deliver curriculum-aligned video lessons for learners, teachers, and CDWs. He emphasized KCFI’s goal of expanding its network by engaging with more telco and cable providers to help extend its mission to reach more and teach more learners.
KCFI also brought interactive activities to the Philippine Tech Show through its “Knowledge on the Go” booth with Creative Programs Inc. (CPI). Visitors rolled the dice and answered questions from core subjects. Prizes and giveaways kept engagement high, while the booth served as a platform to showcase Knowledge Channel content and network with cable operators and members of the tech industry.
KCFI learning solutions reached more schools and Child Development Centers (CDCs) across Northern Luzon in March through the support of the NYK-TDG Friendship Foundation (NTFF).
On March 25, the Isla Solomon Community Learning Center in La Union received a Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) package, enhancing learning experiences in the remote community of Isla Solomon.
This was followed on March 26 by the turnover of KCTV Early Childhood Development (ECD) packages to Monte CDC and Mumulaan CDC in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. These KCTVs provide educators and learners with direct access to high-quality video lessons that enrich and support classroom instruction.
