As School Year 2026–2027 approaches, Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) encourages parents to give their children a strong start, especially in their early years that shape lifelong learning. KCFI advances this by equipping educators, parents, and learners nationwide with access to curriculum-aligned video lessons, while engaging partners to expand and improve learning opportunities for more Filipino children.

KCFI’s shows for Basic Education and ECD are designed to support CDWs, teachers, parents, and young learners.

Parents can prepare their children for the upcoming school year using KCFI’s extensive library of curriculum-aligned video lessons. These resources comprehensively cover core subjects for basic education through flagship shows like MathDali for Math, which simplifies complex mathematical concepts with localized examples to help learners develop foundational problem-solving and critical thinking skills; Wikaharian for Filipino, which tackles Filipino phonics, vocabulary, and reading comprehension to build early literacy; and Ready, Set, Read! for English, which is designed to enhance English literacy by teaching oracy, grammar, vocabulary, and effective reading comprehension skills. Aside from basic education, KCFI also has video lessons for Early Childhood Development (ECD) for children aged 3-4. These include Musikantahan, which uses engaging songs and movement to teach cognitive concepts like shapes and numbers, and Kwentoons, which features animated stories designed to instill essential socio-emotional values like uniqueness, perseverance, and having a growth mindset.

Parents and learners can easily access these educational materials at home through DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel. The channel is available nationwide through cable (SKYcable, Cignal, and PCTA-member cable operators), direct-to-home satellite service, digital free TV (BEAM), online streaming (iWant and CignalPlay), as well as via the School Anywhere block on Kapamilya Channel on cable and free TV via ALLTV, and A2Z. Parents, educators, and caregivers can also access engaging snippets of these lessons online via Knowledge Channel's official YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook pages.

The LearnCon provided participants with practical approaches to integrating multimedia into activities.

KCFI conducted on May 9 the first Knowledge Channel LearnCon (Learning Conference) for 2026, with the ECD-focused,  “Mediaskarteng Pagtuturo: Empowering CDTs, CDWs and Early Learning Facilitators with Multimedia-Supported Strategies.” Going beyond conventional lecture-based training, the LearnCon provided Child Development Workers and Teachers (CDW/Ts), parents, and caregivers of young children with practical approaches to integrating multimedia into play-based, children-centered and developmentally appropriate activities. LearnCon featured two main modules: Dr. Rita Lucas, Dean of the Centro Escolar University School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music and Social Work (SELAMS), discussed the benefits of media in supporting cognitive and socio-emotional skills, while KCFI consultant for Early Childhood Development Dannah Ong guided participants in extending Knowledge Channel video lessons into hands-on activities like singing, drawing, and movement games. KCFI will also conduct upcoming LearnCons on May 23 and May 30 for Basic Education. These sessions aim to equip K-12 teachers with vital pedagogical tools and multimedia strategies in time for the opening of SY 2026–2027.

The LEEP training program in Calamba City with the support of Xylem Watermark.

Aside from providing capacity-building opportunities for educators online, KCFI continues to implement its training programs on ground. Teachers from 10 schools in Calamba City, Laguna were trained on Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-Based Pedagogies (LEEP) program with the support of Xylem Watermark on May 6 to May 8. LEEP is KCFI’s flagship capacity-building program that equips teachers with the competencies to effectively engage learners and create meaningful experiences through curriculum-aligned video lessons grounded in 21st-century pedagogies such as learner-centered, inquiry-based, multiple intelligences, and differentiated instruction. It empowers educators to foster critical, creative thinking, and promote active engagement in the classroom.
