From being recognized for excellence in educational content to bringing learning resources to more Filipino learners, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) continued to expand its impact and reach this month through partnerships and programs supporting learners, teachers, and communities. The month’s milestones highlighted KCFI’s efforts to make learning more accessible, engaging, and meaningful through collaboration.
KCFI scored another twin victory at the KBP Golden Dove Awards on September 30, marking its second consecutive year of wins at the award-giving body. This year, Kinder Yes! and WOW received Best Children's Program and Best Culture and Arts Program respectively. Co-produced with Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI), Kinder Yes! introduces young learners to foundational concepts in literacy, numeracy, environmental care, and disaster preparedness through engaging activities, songs, and dances. Meanwhile, WOW’s episode on Kidapawan, co-produced with First Gen Renewables and hosted by Edric Calma, KCFI Vice President, showcases Kidapawan’s rich culture and biodiversity, as well as local and corporate efforts to conserve its natural heritage. WOW marks its second consecutive win in the Best Culture and Arts Program category at the Golden Dove Awards. This back-to-back win affirms KCFI’s commitment to making learning engaging, meaningful, and accessible through multimedia.
On October 1-2, KCFI joined fellow Lopez Group Foundations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arms at the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) 2026 CSR Expo Collab-A-Fair. Held at the Glorietta Activity Center, the event celebrated LCF’s 30th anniversary with the theme “Adapt, Align, Accelerate,” bringing together organizations from across industries to champion nation-building through CSR and showcase their initiatives. Visitors engaged with the Knowledge-On-The-Go game at KCFI's booth by rolling the dice and answering subject-based trivia, while learning more about KCFI’s offline learning solutions, Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) and the Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML), and its capacity-building programs, Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies (LEEP) and Knowledge Channel Early Childhood Care and Education (KCare). Beyond KCFI’s booth, visitors discovered the diverse initiatives and efforts of fellow Lopez Group Foundations and CSR arms, and other organizations present.
Entering new partnerships was another key highlight this month, marked by the signing of a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Rockwell Land Corporation and its partners, Digee Glass Corporation, ASDEC Builders, and Ground Specialists, Inc. on October 6. The partnership is for the conduct of a KCare program, a capacity-building initiative that equips Child Development Workers/Teachers (CDW/Ts), parents, barangay health workers, and other caregivers with practical knowledge and skills in nutrition, child protection, children’s rights, and responsive caregiving. The program is anchored on the Nurturing Care Framework and the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council’s National Early Learning Framework (NELF). Through this collaboration, KCFI and its partners further their shared commitment to Early Childhood Development (ECD) and create more opportunities to support Filipino children, families, and communities.
Bringing multimedia learning resources to 800 classrooms in Quezon City, KCFI and BCFI marked another major milestone on October 1 with the launch of 215 new episodes of KCFI video lessons featuring Kinder Yes!, Musikantahan, and Ready, Set, Read!, alongside the turnover of television sets and Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML) packages to the Quezon City Government’s Child Development Centers and public elementary schools. These resources will equip teachers and CDW/Ts with more tools to enrich lessons and create engaging learning experiences for children.
Meanwhile, following the launch and turnover in Zamboanga City and Isabela City last September 3, KCFI and BPI Foundation (BPIF) brought multimedia learning resources and financial education to Iloilo and Guimaras on September 22, and Cagayan de Oro on October 8, through the FinEd Unboxed School Caravan. The initiative included the turnover of Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) packages for high schools, providing offline access to curriculum-aligned video lessons, and the launch of two new episodes of Estudyantipid, a financial literacy video series produced in partnership with BPIF. The new episodes, which cover fraud and scams in online spaces and gross and net profit, were developed to help young Filipinos develop practical money-management skills and make wise financial decisions through relatable and student-friendly storytelling. Complementing the launch, financial literacy sessions gave teachers and learners opportunities to build their knowledge of money management and make informed financial decisions.
KCFI’s renewed partnership with S&P Global further expanded support for ECD. On September 15, S&P Global volunteers joined KCFI at La Paz Child Development Center (CDC) in Makati City for art activities with children and the turnover of a KCPML package for ECD for the CDC. The partnership will bring a total of five KCPML packages to CDCs in select areas (1 in Makati City and 4 in Tanuan, Batangas), helping bring quality multimedia learning resources closer to more communities.
