KCFI Attends DOST-STII STARBOOKS 15th Anniversary and 16th Deployment Officers’ Assembly

Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) Vice President Edric Calma, who is also the League of Corporate Foundations' (LCF) Vice Chair, championed technology in education and the need for education stakeholders—the government, corporations, CSOs, individuals, and schools—to work together to improve learning outcomes of Filipino students, at the 16th Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Science and Technology Information Institute (STII) STARBOOKS Deployment Officers' Assembly and 15th Anniversary celebration of DOST STII STARBOOKS.

Speaking before more than a hundred science and technology officers and practitioners from the country's 17 regions, Calma stressed the use of technology in education like Knowledge Channel video lessons in classroom instruction and individual learning, and STARBOOKS digital resources in school and community libraries is imperative.

"Every step toward embracing technology and encouraging collaboration is a step toward enhancing learning and improving learning outcomes," Calma emphasized.

On June 24 at Acacia Hotel in Alabang, DOST-STII STARBOOKS celebrated its 15th anniversary and recognized its stakeholders as it curates and expands access to knowledge and learning resources in schools and communities around the country. Calma, through his work at KCFI and a few years ago with Lingkod Kapamilya sa Teleradyo, was recognized as a STARBOOKS Champion for consistently promoting educational technology use, stakeholder collaboration specifically with colleagues doing education programs at LCF, in delivering and supporting effective and relevant learning in the 21st century, and STARBOOKS.
