Make National History Month More Meaningful with Knowledge Channel

This National History Month, the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) invites you and your children to be more in touch with our history through our curriculum-aligned video lessons. By bringing culturally grounded stories directly to schools and households, we hope to foster a deeper understanding of our past to help build a stronger, brighter future for our country.
Viewers can catch our special History Month lineup now airing on the MAKABANSA block on DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel. Airing Monday to Sunday at 12:20 PM and 8:40 PM, here is our lineup of shows:
WOW (Grade 5 Araling Panlipunan): This Araling Panlipunan show takes learners around the Philippines to explore local history, culture, heritage, and communities. A special episode featuring Philippine museums will also be aired, introducing learners to historical collections and cultural treasures that help tell the nation's story.
Kasaysayan TV (Grade 5 Araling Panlipunan): A documentary series tracing key events in Philippine history using accurate, curriculum-aligned content developed with historians and partner institutions.
Dokyumento: Featuring student-produced documentaries from West Visayas State University, Philippine Normal University Visayas, CIIT College of Innovation and Integrated Technology, and other colleges/universities. These documentaries highlight local history, culture, heritage, and community stories while giving student filmmakers an opportunity to contribute educational content that reaches learners nationwide.
KCFI continues to build on its legacy of history education through beloved classic shows like Bayani, which tells the stories of Filipino heroes and nation-builders, and Pamana, which introduces younger learners to Philippine history, culture, traditions, and identity, while Salam High School expands this legacy by exploring world history, state policies, cultural sensitivity, conflicts and peace, and diaspora.
Aside from DepEd TV powered by Knowledge Channel, these shows are also available on Knowledge Channel's other platforms: online through live streaming on iWant and Cignal Play with educational snippets posted on Knowledge Channel’s official YouTube and Facebook pages and offline through Knowledge Channel Portable Media Libraries (KCPML) and Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) packages.

On July 17, KCFI joined the Child Development Teachers/Workers (CDW/Ts) Summit in Binalonan, Pangasinan, where KCFI’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) Consultant Dannah Ong shared practical strategies for inclusive learning environments for young children, reminding educators that inclusion is a daily practice.
During the session, participants watched Gen H: Generation Healthy, co-developed with AIA Philippines, which explored children's emotions, stress management, and social-emotional learning. The episode equipped teachers with practical approaches to help children recognize emotions, build positive relationships, and create safe, responsive classrooms.
On July 28, KCFI and the National Book Development Board (NBDB) met to discuss potential collaborations, including publishing support for KCFI's video lessons, participation in the NBDB's translation grant program, and the Philippine Book Festival.
The meeting highlighted KCFI's Teaching and Learning Ecosystem, which hopes to integrate books with educational videos, use of digital platforms, and PRC-CPD-accredited teacher training to strengthen early childhood literacy. Both organizations share a commitment to empowering young learners and educators by making quality learning resources more accessible nationwide.
