KCFI, BCFI, Quezon City Government, Schools Division Office–Quezon City, education consultants, teachers, and Child Development Workers come together to support more learning opportunities for children.

The Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI), in partnership with Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI) has turned over television sets and learning resources to 37 Quezon City Schools and 91 Child Development Centers, reaching 800 classrooms. One of the beneficiaries is the Esteban Abada Elementary School, where the ceremony took place.

KCFI President and Co-Founder Rina Lopez emphasized that the project is about children, not technology.

“We cannot wait until children are 15 years old to address reading difficulties. We have to build strong readers from the very beginning. Videos alone are not enough… Our goal is not more screen time. Our goal is better learning time,” she said, adding that the initiative is meant to give every child a better chance to learn and provide teachers with stronger tools to teach.

Anadoris Villa, President of District 4 Day Care Teachers of Quezon City, welcomed the support. “Napakagrateful namin on behalf of daycare teachers ng Quezon City… itong learning materials na ito from Knowledge Channel ay napakalaking tulong para sa aming mga teachers, para sa interaction ng mga bata, at para sa development na rin nila,” she said.

Quezon City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Carleen Sedilla described the turnover as a renewal of commitment.

“Today is more than a simple turnover of television sets and learning resources. It is a turnover of opportunity… A television set or learning materials may look simple, but given to dedicated teachers, this will become something that would really help our learners,” she said, stressing that the true value of the materials lies in how teachers transform them into innovation and inspiration.

Bloomberry Cultural Foundation executive director Filipina Laurena underscored the project’s role in strengthening classroom delivery.

“This project is aimed really to help the teachers facilitate in cascading the lessons to the kids and for the kids to readily absorb the learning modules being delivered by the school teachers,” she said.

Joining the turnover and launch were Quezon City Mayor Hon. QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, QC Schools Division Superintendent SDS Carleen Sedilla, CESO V, BCFI Executive Director Ms. Filipina Laurena, BCFI Deputy Executive Director Atty. Ellan Pailan, and KCFI Vice President Mr. Edric Calma, together with the project’s education consultants, teachers, and Child Development Workers.
