KCFI Mobilizes Employees, Interns, and Volunteers for Brigada Pagbasa

By Daizelle Ann Lejano

On June 3, 2026, employees, volunteers, and KCVIP interns of the Knowledge Channel Foundation gathered at Ernesto Rondon High School in Quezon City for a Brigada Pagbasa session focused on helping learners strengthen their reading comprehension skills.

Led by KCFI's Learning Solutions Department, the activity used Ready Set Read (RSR) video lessons to guide students who can already read but still struggle to understand what they are reading. Through engaging discussions and practical exercises, learners were introduced to context clues and other strategies that help unlock the meaning behind unfamiliar words and passages.

The session demonstrated how multimedia learning tools can support deeper understanding and foster a love for reading among young learners.

“Reading is not just about recognizing words—it is about understanding ideas, discovering possibilities, and building confidence. Through programs like Ready, Set, Read!, Wikaharian, and Musikantahan, we strive to help children develop strong literacy skills, deepen comprehension, and unlock their full potential through learning,” said Rina Lopez, President and Co-Founder of the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc.

Through Brigada Pagbasa, KCFI continues its commitment to helping Filipino learners become not only readers, but lifelong learners.
