Kabataang May K: Knowledge Channel para sa Kalikasan!

March is Fire Prevention Month, and the Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) has a video on disaster preparedness for fires on YouTube. It has also wrapped up work on shows about one of the factors that has been causing a lot of wildfires, climate change.

Tropang K!-Likasan, developed with CEMEX Philippines Foundation, focuses on proper waste disposal and management to mitigate climate change for Grades 4 to 5 learners. Another show, Lakbay Aral, was developed with Save the Children for 3- to 8-year-old learners, especially those from indigenous communities, tackling climate change and our collective responsibility to care for the environment.

KCFI has been continuously strengthening its commitment to early childhood development (ECD), too. Through the support and generosity of the Rotary Clubs of Makati Premier District, Metropolitan Pateros, and Makati, as well as Ms. Raissa Hechanova-Posadas, the Foundation is rolling out its KC ECD training program to ten child development centers in Pateros.

The Knowledge Channel Foundation continues to improve education and learning outcomes in the Philippines through educational video lessons and teacher trainings this March.

The Foundation also continues to provide access to Knowledge Channel videos through the KC Portable Media Library and KC TV Package and train recipients from all over the country through partnerships with BPI Foundation, Unilever – Breeze Philippines, Aboitiz Power, Congresswoman Sittie Dimaporo of Lanao del Norte, and Wishlinks Foundation.

Various partners have also recently commended KCFI’s continuing efforts in improving education and learning. Over the last month, KCFI was recognized as an exceptional partner in supporting the Department of Education’s basic education development plan during the 2024 Partners’ Appreciation and Recognition Program; a Partner in Empowerment, Advocacy, and Commitment to Excellence (PEACE) Awardee of the Metrobank Foundation during its 45th anniversary celebration; an invaluable partner of Bantay Bata 163 during its 27th Anniversary – 2024 Partners’ Appreciation Event; and, a recipient of the Green ZEAL Award for Excellence in Education Innovation during the 6th Gawad Lasallianeta.
