Three successive typhoons have wreaked havoc on the lives of thousands of Filipinos lying within their paths. Sadly, the education sector has taken a beating with the destruction of some schools including the loss of massive amounts of learning materials worth millions of pesos. But learning must continue; now more than ever.
“Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon Para sa Edukasyon” is a fundraising campaign meant to assist selected schools located in the DepEd Division of Rizal which have suffered the most from the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses in terms of threats to the continuance of education.
By December 23, to have raised Php 3M from the public through Knowledge Channel platforms for the purchase of 2,000 learners’ kits for distribution to learner victims of Ulysses in Rizal province.
The project’s direct beneficiaries are students enrolled in public elementary schools in San Mateo, Rodriguez and upland Tanay within the DepEd Schools Division of Rizal who lost their school supplies due to the flooded homes.
With donated funds, learning materials will be purchased and packed into individual learners’ kits by Knowledge Channel employee volunteers.
The learners’ kit is a set of school materials used by Filipino children while learning from home via online, distance or modular learning.
