Knowledge Channel still available on cable, sat TV, online

We regret to inform our viewers that Knowledge Channel, the first and only all Filipino curriculum-based channel in the country has suspended airing on ABS-CBN TVplus indefinitely because of the cease and desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission issued to ABS-CBN.

As a result, more than 4 million households with ABS-CBN TVplus no longer have the opportunity to learn through the Knowledge Channel which broadcasts more than 1,500 educational videos from Kinder to Grade 10.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Knowledge Channel Foundation and ABS-CBN have collaborated to implement the “Stay at Home, Learn at Home” campaign so children can continue learning at home. Only 18% of households have access to the internet while 80% have access to television. We have also been working closely with the Department of Education and offered Knowledge Channel as a primary delivery mode under DepEd’s Learning Continuity Plan.

With the NTC order, more households will lose access to Knowledge Channel and the opportunity to learn through television.

However, Knowledge Channel is still accessible on SKYcable channel 5, SKYdirect channel 12, G-Sat, and other cable operating partners. Our videos are also available online on the following platforms:

YouTube – knowledgechannelorg
Website –
DepEd –
Facebook – knowledgechannel and knowledgechannelfoundation

In the past 20 years, Knowledge Channel has served millions of children in more than 7,000 schools nationwide. It is also available to more than 7 million households via cable, digital terrestrial television, and direct-to-home satellites. It has produced more than 1,000 educational videos over the years and have trained thousands of teachers.
