New Knowledge Channel show will help kids read

By Michael Ramos | October 10, 2019

If 90’s Filipino kids grew up watching the iconic ABS-CBN Foundation show ATBP every morning, today’s Generation A will surely enjoy Knowledge Channel’s latest daytime offering!

With a mix of modern 2D animation, catchy tunes, funny puppets, and engaging stories, Wikaharian is slated to be the newest educational program that will not only entertain young kids but also help and motivate them to read.

The show is topbilled by reading and language teacher turned Knowledge Channel host, Michelle Agas, and surrounded by an adorable cast of characters with their own set of quirky personalities: Buboy, Billy, Chichay, and Chiton. Every week, viewers take a journey with the gang as they do different activities (from storytelling, to games, and even singing!) to help them boost their vocabulary, a reading comprehension, and interest in learning.

As a teaser to the show’s maiden airing last September 23, a lyric video of the show’s theme song, “Tayo na sa Wikaharian” was uploaded on Knowledge Channel’s Youtube page. The song was composed by Cris Lim, arranged by Paul Matthew Guevarra and sung by Michelle Agas.

During Knowledge Channel’s 20th Anniversary Press Launch, Ate Michelle also did a live version of Leron Leron Sinta with the Wikaharian puppets! It was an example of how the show mixes music, animation, and live acting in order to make learning engaging and happy especially for young learners.
