Leaders of industry, gurus of civil society and key education officials got together on February 17 for “Lead the Change 2010,” a forum organized by Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) with guest of honor Peggy Dulany Rockefeller. The event aimed to collectively arrive at a plan of action to help fight worsening poverty in the Philippines.

Last February 25, the week-long Volunteer Fair hosted by Johnson & Johnson (J&J) in partnership with Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) successfully wrapped up its series of talks and activities. Held in the J&J Activity Center, the volunteer fair was organized by J&J in the hopes of promoting their volunteer program. This year’s volunteer fair was entitled, “Share a Gift and Be a Volunteer.”

After a serious process of training and volunteer services, 105 students from the Technological University of the Philippines attended the last leg of their volunteer work. The processing session took place in the TUP campus in Taguig on the 6thof February 2010.

Held on the 19^th of February, 109 student volunteers from De La Salle University, Manila were trained under the Knowledge Channel Education Enrichment Program that was conducted within the campus grounds.

The eighth school visit of the Tulong Balik Esklwela program involved the distribution of the largest number of school bags and school supplies yet—approximately 2308 school packs in all. The school supplies were given to the students of San Lorenzo Ruiz Elementary School in Pasig City.

The seventh Tulong Balik Eskwela distribution came about through Knowledge Channel Foundation’s partnership with First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPHC). Volunteers from KCh and FPHC went to Manggahan Elementary School in Pasig City in order to give away school packs to students affected by the recent typhoon Ondoy.

Volunteers from Knowledge Channel Foundation and PHILEC (Philippine Electric Corporation) banded together for the fifth Tulong Balik Eskwela distribution program. They were back in Pasig City, this time visiting the Bagong Ilog Elementary School.
