 Accreditation Test for Elementary & High School Non-Passers

Students who were not able to pass elementary or high school, or those who have dropped-out of school may now register with DepEd in order to take the ALS Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test. The A&E Test is designed to measure the competencies of those who have not finished either formal elementary or high school education.

The ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test is free for anyone qualified to take it. Those who wish to register for the test have until June 15 to submit the required documents. Testing date for NCR is on August 15, 2010. For Visayas and Mindanao, exam date is on August 1, 2010.

Who are qualified to take the test?

  • An elementary dropout who is at least 11 years old on or before testing date
  • A secondary dropout who is at least 15 years old on or before testing date
  • Non-passers of previous ALS A&E Test/s
  • Learners/Completers of ALS Programs (at least 11 years old and 15 years old for the elementary and secondary level test respectively)
  • Youth and adults although in-school but more than 11 years for Grade 6 and more than 15 years old for 4th year high school

What are the requirements for registration?

Option 1 – Original and Xerox copies of any of the following government-issued ID:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Passport
  • Voter’s ID
  • Postal ID
  • SSS/GSIS ID
  • NBI clearance (original copy)

If applicant is unable to present any of the requirements mentions in Option 1, he/she may present either of the remaining options:

Option 2 – Barangay Certification with photo, stating complete name and Date of Birth, or;

Option 3 – Authenticated Birth Certificate + any ID with photo


What are the benefit/s after passing the ALS A&E Test?

  • Enroll as HS freshman for elementary level passers
  • Enroll in 2/3/5 or 5-year course of the CHED and PASUC member institutions
  • Access to Meralco Foundation, Inc. and TESDA skills training programs
  • Opportunity to acquire eligibility for employment to government positions under CSC Res.#499
