Knowledge Channel Trains Volunteers from DLSU-Manila
 February 23, 2010

One sure way of fighting the growing sense of apathy and social indifference among the young generation is by involving them in activities that promote a sense of awareness and empowerment. One such activity that helps generate social awareness and responsibility among young Filipinos is the Knowledge Channel Education Enrichment Program or K.E.E.P. for short.

Knowledge Channel training of student volunteers from De La Salle University

Held on the 19th of February, 109 student volunteers from De La Salle University, Manila were trained under the Knowledge Channel Education Enrichment Program that was conducted within the campus grounds. The said program involves school monitoring, KCh tutorials, and other related activities.

The student volunteers are part of the TRED2 Community Service Program of De La Salle University and the Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA). The Knowledge Channel Volunteer Management Team along with the KCh Social Mobilization and Content Groups facilitated the training.

KCh training activity with DLSU volunteer students

Last February 13, another training session took place this time involving 45 student volunteers also from DLSU. The training was conducted as part of the RELSFOR Advocacy Program of DLSU and COSCA. The 45 student volunteers will come up with a series of advocacy projects for the Knowledge Channel Foundation such as science exhibits, video documentary workshops, multi-media drives, t-shirt making workshops and other engaging activities.
