Fight Poverty Through Quality Education!

The United Nations (UN) recognized that one of the most effective ways to address poverty is through education. One of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) is to halve the number of children around the world without access to primary education.

According to the 2000 Philippine Human Development Report, the rate of poverty incidence falls by 3% for every 1% improvement in functional literacy.

But how can a student learn and improve his life the resources allocated to the public educational system is dismally low, rendering the quality of the teaching-learning process in the public school system lacking and ineffectual?

The Solution: Educational Television

Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) believes that educational television is the answer to the crisis.

Why? With Educational Television (ETV), students understand and remember the lessons better. Because with ETV, what the kids see and hear is what they get.

The latest report by the United Nations indicates that technology should be used to address low retention and comprehension rate in both elementary and high school.

KCFI's Flagship Program: Knowledge Channel

Knowledge Channel (KCh) is the only all-educational TV channel with 14 hours of curriculum-based programs, bringing to life elementary and high school subjects such as math, science and English.

KCFI acquires and produces video programs anchored on the Department of Education's curriculum and distribute them via cable or satellite to public schools at no cost to them. Students who watch these programs regularly consequently score higher at tests and get better grades.

There is nothing better than getting stimulated with sounds and pictures. ETV works!
