Green Mile & PMQE Turnover (Bohol)
From Cebu to Bohol. The 8th turnover event of the “Proficient Measures for Quality Education” project was held at Bool Elementary School, Tagbilaran City last March 14. For the “Green Mile” project, a strip of sidewalk in front of the school was swept clean by the students and volunteers from PMPMI. The area is just across the Blood Compact Monument, which is a favorite tourist/historical destination.

Green Mile & PMQE Turnover (Cebu)
Cebu is the 7th recipient province of the “Proficient Measures for Quality Education” project. The turnover ceremony was held last March 12 at the Babag Elementary School, located at the highlands of Cebu City. PMPMI Managing Director Chris Nelson and KCFI Director for Channel Operations Doris Nuval led the event.

Knowledge Channel and Philip Morris Philippines Partner in Environmental Clean-up
Knowledge Channel Foundation makes its contribution to environmental preservation by helping clean a beach front at San Juan, Ilocos Sur, through a project called The Green Mile. The Green Mile is a partnership project with Philip Morris Philippines Manufacturing, Inc., which involves an environmental clean-up activity in 15 provinces nationwide.

3 New Schools in Zambales now Receive The Knowledge Channel
Zambales is the third provincial recipient of the Proficient Measures for Quality Education project. The partnership project between Knowledge Channel Foundation (KCFI) and Philip Morris Philippines (PMPMI) provides Knowledge Channel and textbooks in elementary Math and Science to three schools in Zambales and an Aeta-school inside the Subic Base.

Salam given Anak TV seal by Southeast Asian Foundation for Children & Television
'Salam', the USAID-assisted peace module of the Knowledge Channel co-produced by ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. was given the Anak TV Seal by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television in a gathering of local TV networks and TV personalities last December 11, 2007.

Philip Morris  Green Mile  highlights in Tanauan, Batangas
A kilometer stretch, PMI clean-up drive in Barangay Natatas main road started at 8:30 A.M. and ended at 9:30 A.M.. This was attended by volunteers from PMI Batangas Plant and their Manila office spearheaded by Atty. Amy Barbasa, DepEd local representatives, teachers and students from Natatas Elementary School.

Satellite TV beams hope
Knowledge Channel, using the facilities of ABS-CBN and Skycable, has been bringing to classrooms from Aparri to Zamboanga basic learning skills designed to improve the quality of education and level the learning and teaching fields. Since its inception in 1999, Knowledge Channel has been servicing 1,719 schools in the country-with roughly 20 percent connected via satellite and the zest through cabie.
