The Knowledge Channel (KCh) is the first and only all-educational channel on cable TV, broadcasting a wide range of curriculum-based programs for elementary and secondary level students and instructional shows for adults 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is the foremost source of educational TV (ETV) programs in the Philippines. With a dynamic programming and localized, Filipino-oriented shows, KCh is an informative, relevant and fun instructional supplement for over 2.8 million students in over a thousand schools in the country today.

Signing On

KCh began in 1999 as the flagship project of the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) The Channel was given broadcasting rights on SKYCable, a local cable TV provider and thus became the first channel to air an all-educational program line-up in the Philippines. Today, KCh continues to produce and air shows based on the prescribed curriculum of the country's public school system. A Memorandum of Agreement signed between KCFI and the Department of Education requires mandatory viewing of KCh in classrooms where the Channel is available.
