More than 15 Donors Support 2017 Initiatives of KCFI

Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) capped off 2017 with much gratitude as it was able to connect more schools, produce more educational videos, and deliver much needed teacher trainings to various public schools nationwide thanks to its partners.

Last year, KCFI turned over more than a hundred Gift of Knowledge packages to various public schools all over Luzon and Visayas including those in the far-flung areas of Palawan, the Babuyan Islands, and Batanes. Majority of these connections were made possible through the Global Grant Project of Rotary International, Rotary Club District 3830, other Rotary partners, SKY Direct, TV Patrol, and Malampaya Foundation. Starmobile also donated 50 tablets to be used by children in accessing and using Knowledge Channel’s multimedia resources.

KCFI also received support in the production of new educational videos in partnership with various institutions like the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology (PFST), and Insular Life.

More than 1000 public school teachers and principals from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were also trained last year on 21st Century teaching pedagogies and learner-centered approaches with LEEP or Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies. DepEd School Divisions, local government units (LGU), and private companies sponsored the trainings including BISCOM, First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP), Metrobank Foundation, Morong High School Alumni Association Inc. (MHSAAI) Northern California, Western Union, North Negros Community Development Foundation Inc., LGU of Quezon City, LGU of Sultan Kudarat, LGU of Lanao del Norte, DepEd Division of Bayawan, Negros Oriental, DepEd Misamis Occidental, and DepEd Division and LGU of Lanao del Norte.

Other donations in-kind were also received from Manila Water Inc., and Gardenia Bakeries.

Through these efforts, more Filipino children in public schools can now watch quality educational videos and learn better through their teachers. KCFI continues to invite individuals, companies, and agencies to make a difference in education. Visit our donate page to know more.
